WINTER TRAILS DAY: SNOW DAY!

This year Winter Trails Day at Notchview is offering even more than free skiing lessons, free guided snowshoe hikes and 50% off all rental equipment. This year’s event include “Snow-ga” (yes, snow yoga), a s’mores bonfire, back country skiing for beginners, fort-making for kids and an introductory knitting class on making a basic wool hat. Free.

WINTER STUDIO FESTIVAL OF PLAYS: IMPORTANT VOICES
January 19th - 20th, Saturday & Sunday

The Winter Studio Festival of Plays is a weekend of play readings that brings the community together for refreshing and thoughtful entertainment. Presenting work from important voices in the cultural landscape, these playwrights tackle relevant and challenging topics including immigration, adoption, addiction, sexual abuse, and the ramifications on individuals, families and community. Each reading is followed by a talk-back with the director and the actors. Individual tickets: $25 Adult, $10 Student, 5 Readings: $75 Adults, $30 Students.

ELVIS BIRTHDAY BASH: KEEPING THE KING ALIVE

Without Elvis we would probably not have the Beatles, the Stones or even Bob Dylan. The Annual Elvis Bash at Helsinki Hudson, celebrating the would-be 84th birthday of the King this year, has invited Mark Gamsjager and The Lustre Kings to lead the charge. Over the span of several decades, they have been keeping the sound of the King and early rockabilly alive across the United States and around the world. They’ll be joined by other members of the region’s talented rock ‘n’ roll revival scene. $20 Advance, $25 Day of.
